Your questions answered
Does prostate massage hurt?
Not if done correctly. If prostate massage hurts, you are not doing it correctly. If you have stinging or burning, you may have torn your sensitive anal passage, so wait a week before you try again so it can heal. Then when you are ready try an aid such as Pjur analyse and Innuendo that helps relax the area and ensure you are in possession of lots of lubricant such as the ID Glide or Swede Silicone. If any discomfort or pain continues, see your health care professional. Prostate massage should be very pleasurable.
I can't get an erection while the toy is in. Am I doing something wrong?
Every man is different, and your body may take some time to get used to the sex toy, so if an erection is what you want, persevere. Many men have very exciting G-Spot orgasms without an erection so it is not essential. In fact, it doesn't matter. Try on a different occasion, or try some other stimulation while you have the sex toy in, like erotic touching, or an erotic movie. Prostate massage is an individual journey, and sometimes-unexpected things happen. Keep playing you never know what might happen!
Lots of milky or clear fluid comes out when I ejaculate when I have the massager in. Is this normal?
Yes as all the fluid is expelled from the prostate gland, which results in a greater volume of fluid coming out. This fluid may be of different consistencies and colour than normal ejaculate fluid. If you are worried about the contents of your prostate, see a health care professional for advice.
Do I need to touch my penis when I have the toy in?
You can do anything you like, but to get a full body, non-ejaculatory orgasm it is recommended that you don't touch your penis. Instead, concentrate on the sensations in your body, and build on them with anal contractions. Touching the penis generally results in ejaculation, which is perfectly fine (and more intense) because it shifts the focus away from the prostate and into the penis. Prostate massage is your journey, so do what you like!
Why do I need to use lube?
Lubricant ensures the smooth journey of the toy inside the anal passage, keeping you safe from tears and discomfort caused by the dryness of the anal canal. The anal passage is not naturally self-lubricating, so additional lubricant is required for pleasurable anal play and prostate massage. You may use a water-based lubricant for a more natural feeling fluid such as the ID Glide or Pjur Aqua Man or you may find an oily lubricant suits you best such as the Swede Silicone Supreme or Pjur Silicone. Also remember that you cannot combine silicone lubricants with silicone toys so ensure you be careful not to, in order to ensure the longevity of the quality of your toy.
Can I share my toy?
Yes, but make sure it is thoroughly washed in a mild detergent and hot water. To protect you from sharing bacteria with another person, you can use a condom over the toy, choose from our range of condoms, Mood, Pasante and Durex next time you purchase a Nexus toy. The toys are high grade medical materials, and don't hold bacteria well after washing. Also purchasing a toy cleaner is essential to ensure you are cleaning the toy to the ultimate level.
What is a prostate gland?
The prostate gland is a small walnut-sized gland located inside the abdominal cavity of males, just below the bladder. Its main purpose is to store and secrete a clear fluid that makes up almost a third of semen. The fluid is alkaline, which combats the acidity of the vagina, and helps the sperm to stay alive long enough to swim to their prize eggs. The prostate gland is also called the ‘P-Spot’ or male G-Spot. It can be accessed through the rectal wall via the anus and be stimulated for sexual pleasure, or for male milking (the emptying of the prostate gland).
The prostate wraps around the urethra, so is intricately tied in with the male urinary system – an enlarged prostate can result in impeded urinary flow and problems with orgasm and ejaculation.
The main function of the prostate is reproduction. The testicles produce sperm, the "little guys" that fertilize eggs. The vas deferens carries this sperm to the prostate, where it mixes with fluid from the prostate and seminal vesicles. When you have an orgasm, you ejaculate this fluid with muscle contractions and the “little guys” swim for their lives.
